WhatsApp Order Confirm - button-based COD confirmation on WhatsApp

Send every cash on delivery order a WhatsApp message with two buttons. The customer taps Confirm or Cancel, Shopify gets tagged instantly, and unanswered orders time out on your rules.

What WhatsApp Order Confirm does

A cash on delivery order arrives and the app sends the buyer an interactive WhatsApp template listing the items, the total and the delivery address, with a Confirm button and a Cancel button. Their tap writes a tag back to the Shopify order, so your fulfilment view splits cleanly into confirmed and unconfirmed. If nobody replies within the window you set, the order is auto-cancelled or moved to a follow-up queue. Free-text replies land in an agent inbox where a human takes over.

What you get

Interactive buttons

Confirm and Cancel are tap targets in the message, not instructions to reply with a word. That removes typos, wrong keywords and ambiguous answers.

Automatic order tagging

Tags such as wa-confirmed, wa-cancelled and wa-no-reply are written to the order, ready for your fulfilment filters and Shopify Flow rules.

Reminder and timeout

Send a reminder after your chosen interval, then auto-cancel or hold the order once the reply window closes. Both intervals are yours to set.

Agent inbox

Replies that are not a button tap, such as address changes or questions about the price, appear in a shared inbox with the order attached.

Order detail in the message

Items, quantities, total payable at the door and the delivery address are shown, so the customer is confirming something specific rather than a bare order number.

Confirmation reporting

Confirm rate, cancel rate and no-reply rate by day, city and order value, so you can see which segments are worth calling instead.

How it works

  1. 1

Connect your WhatsApp Business API number and get the interactive confirmation template approved by Meta.

  2. 2

Set which orders get messaged, usually cash on delivery, and choose your reminder and timeout intervals.

  3. 3

New orders trigger the message. Button taps write tags to the order within seconds of the reply.

  4. 4

Your team packs confirmed orders and works the agent inbox for anything that needs a human.

Why merchants run it

Return to origin falls

Orders the buyer never intended to accept get cancelled before pickup, so you stop paying two courier legs to learn that.

Cheaper than calling

A WhatsApp conversation costs less than an agent's time on a phone call, and it scales through a weekend sale without adding headcount.

Address errors caught early

Showing the delivery address in the confirmation message means wrong or incomplete addresses get corrected in chat rather than at the doorstep.

Faster dispatch decisions

Most replies arrive within minutes, so same-day cut-offs are realistic in a way that a manual calling round through the morning is not.

Frequently asked questions

How is this different from WhatsFlow Notify?

WhatsFlow Notify is one-way. It tells the customer what happened to their order and expects no answer. This app is two-way and gatekeeping: nothing ships until the buyer taps Confirm or your timeout rule decides for them. Stores commonly run both, with this one first in the sequence.

Why not just call the customer?

AutoDial Confirm does exactly that, and voice reaches people who ignore messages. WhatsApp is cheaper and faster for the majority who do reply. The usual pattern is message first, then call only the no-reply queue before it times out.

Will auto-cancel lose me real orders?

It can if the window is too short, which is why the default is a reminder plus a generous timeout, and why you can set no-reply orders to hold rather than cancel. Review your no-reply rate for the first few weeks and adjust the window to match how your customers actually behave.

Do I need Meta template approval?

Yes. Interactive business-initiated messages run on approved templates. We prepare the template, submit it and handle rejections. Approval usually turns around quickly, but plan for a short lead time before go-live rather than launching the same day.
